Mom's Chili Recipe
Ingredients
- 1lb ground beef (you may substitute ground turkey or ground sirloin)
- 3 Italian sausage links (mild)
- 1 1/2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 tsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cans pinto beans, drained
- 1 28 oz can of diced tomatoes
- 1 15 oz can of tomato sauce
- 1 small can of tomato paste
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage.
- Drain excess fat.
- Add all seasonings and let simmer for about 20 minutes.
- Add beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce and tomato paste.
- Let simmer for at least two hours for flavors to blend.
Amounts of spices can be increased or decreased for individual tastes.
